First and Foremost, we're a farm

Heavins Farm is a working, family-run farm on unincorporated land in North Phoenix, Arizona — just minutes from New River, Desert Hills, Anthem, and Cave Creek. First and foremost, we're a farm: a forever home for rescued and adopted animals, and a family committed to living a healthier, more sustainable life alongside them.

Every animal here — our goats, ducks, chickens, and our newest addition, a pig — is shown love, compassion, and respect. None of them are ever raised for meat. Instead, they earn their keep through what they naturally give us: fresh eggs, goat milk, fertilizer, and compost.

A true closed loop

Everything on the farm feeds something else.

Animal manure fertilizes our trees and plants; leftover organic material goes into our compost bins; that compost enriches our garden; and the garden, in turn, feeds the animals. It's a true closed-loop farm — nothing goes to waste, and there's never a missed opportunity to learn or teach.

We even reuse the water from our duck pond in a system we call "Quackaponics."
